Giovanna Fletcher - You're the one that I want Review

Hey guys!
So this is now the second book by Giovanna Fletcher that I have read and it most definitely won't be the last one either.
I decided to try and read all of her books in the sequence that they were published - not sure if I'm going in the right direction but I've just followed googles advice, and started off with 'Billy and Me' - again a really good book, tear jerking at times though!
Anyway I digress, onto her second book 'You're the one that I want'
I got this for a grand total of 49p from Amazon as the three app Wunto were giving away a £5 voucher for Amazon prime day which I couldn't resist! Eagerly awaiting my book to be delivered and there is was the next day. The first good sign must be the fact that I finished the entire book in just 2 evenings as I just couldn't put it down.
The book gets you attached from the very beginning and constantly wants to make you know more. It follows the story of a girl and her two male best friends …

First Trnd Product Test - Batiste Dry Shampoo

Hey all!

So recently I was really excited by the fact that I got selected to trial the brand new 2 in 1 dry shampoo and conditioner from Batiste. Having used their products before I was really looking forward to getting stuck in and using this product.

It arrived the other day and I took a whole 2 seconds to open the packaging and get reading through the leaflets and assessing the product.

Upon using the product my excitement was short lived...
I will start with the positives; The fragrance, both the scents smell really niceThere is none of the grey colour that normally comes when using dry shampooThe little 'on the go' can is a perfect size to put in your handbag And unfortunately will have to mention the negatives;

I found that it actually made my hair look greasier than before I used the product (see pics) Excuse my facial expressions on these but it's fair too say I wasn't too impressed with this new product!
It won't however put me off Batiste products as the b…

Garden update

Hey guys!

Hopefully some new fans to?!

As I've said before I'm not what you could exactly call 'green fingered' but have decided to get my hands dirty this year and try to transform my slab of concrete into something a bit more presentable.

My planting so far has actually gone really well; I managed to successfully grow and eat a batch lettuce and have so far doubled my potato breed and thus replanted them.

The best bit however, is my latest improvement....

I know it might not seem much, but to me it just makes the front of my house look SO much better, and my OH came back with the grass so other day for free so it hasn't even cost a penny!

I decided to spruce up the flowers - which I grew from little seedlings - with some little friends. I managed to pick these up from Home Bargains today for a measly 69p each. There were absolutely loads to choose from but I thought these two would do for now...

I'm going to keep my eye out for a few other little nick nacks an…

A surprisingly tasty microwave meal

Hi guys,

I just had to share this recipe with you guys as it cost next to nothing (just used up food I already had) and it was surprisingly tasty!

Basically, I'm trying to cut down on my grocery bill so have been trying to use up some of the bots in my fridge and at the back of my cupboards. This afternoon I decided to use a couple of peppers to make stuffed peppers, however I forgot to get the mince out of the freezer so I turned to google for different ideas.

I stumbled across this recipe which I've adjusted slightly. I don't like olives or pesto so I didn't use these, and instead of goats cheese I used grated cheddar. I also only used 2 peppers and a packet of Sainsbury's own brand golden vegetable rice, but followed all of the instructions in the link.

When I got the finished product out of the microwave I was a bit sceptical as it doesn't look that appetising and the peppers had wilted but decided to give it a go anyway, and I have to say, I was positively…

I'm a brilliant gardener.... NOT

Hey guys,

So with the nicer weather I have decided to try and make my garden - loosely said, into a much nicer place to relax in.

To start with it has no grass 😢 it is basically just a plot of concrete with a beautiful (sarcasm) metal fence around it. But alas in the summer it gets plenty of sun all day long so countless hours have been spent chilling with a book and a nice cold drink.

Here are some pictures of what I was starting with....

As you can see, the sun catches it all but it's not exactly the nicest view...

First port of call was shopping last week when I picked up some plants and seeds for £1 each (bargain at home bargains) and some little planting pots and troughs.

Second call was a nice sunny day outside to get these planted and looking nice. A few hours later and this little part of my garden was looking so much better, and do you know what... I felt rather impressed with myself.

A nice start I think... 2 yellow roses (one each side of the troughs) both £1 each. Stra…

Freebie hunting galore

Hey there guys!

Long time no speak I know, and for that I can only apologise as life has been pretty darn busy since my last post (2014! Eeeek)

So... I'm now a full time worker as a supervisor at a local department store - which I have to admit, is pretty amazing and I feel like a proper grown up now!!

Anyhow, I've always been one to look for freebies and ways to save the pennies, after all they do look after the pounds right! Because of this I've started following quite a few people and pages on Instagram who seem to be amazing at finding all the best deals as soon as they hit down. Currently I post any freebies and things on find on my personal instagram account - 'hcoe92' if you fancy a follow ;) but I'm thinking of starting a new account specifically dedicated to freebies and offers, hopefully by the end of this post I'll have a name for it and be able to let you know!

For my first post on this subject I thought I'd share with you some websites that…

Sweet Treats For You

Hey there guys, long time no type I know but I am now back, albeit for a different type of blog...
As a family we have decided to set up a little sweet business going round weddings, school fêtes and parties setting up a little sweet bar, as well as also selling small gifts such as sweet trees and themed items. This is basically a bit of a feeder to get our name out there and see if people think this is a good idea and ultimately if you would be willing to pay for such things.
So far we have catered for a couple of different occasions and made a few prototypes;

This was the first ever sweet bar we did - every guest gets as many sweets as they want to fill their own cups, at least 20 different varieties.

This is our Father's Day mug complete with full size chocolate bars, a 'No 1 Dad' medallion and a selection of Heroes - contents can be suited to individual wants.

This is our large sweet tree - uses over 8 full bags (200 Eclairs) with matching ribbon, again different swe…
